Ranch Life

Fainting Quartz ranch is located in the Golden Gate Canyon of Colorado. Under the ground there is quartz galore and on top of the ground, we raise pure fainting goats. The goats have access to 10 acres of nature’s playground featuring rock formations and plenty of forbes to snack on! Our mama goats love to do daily wind sprints up and down the mountain (their choice, we assure you!) as well as the occasional hand-fed grapevine! With sunshine almost every day on a south-facing mountain, they have the most picturesque place to call home!

Meet the Mamas

Bo Peep

This Little Bo Peep never loses her sheep (aka friends) since Bo Peep, Antoinette and Bella are fast friends. She is mild-mannered and always looking out for others to make sure they get their share before she takes her turn.

Antoinette

Just as she is a perfect mix of black and white, Antoinette is a perfect mix of Bo Peep and Bella’s personalities! Definitely the peace-keeper of the group, Antoinette usually leads the charge out of the stables in the morning. She’s raring and ready to play!

Bella

The Primadonna of the group for sure--she’s ready for her closeup! Even though she is naturally hornless, she doesn’t let it stop her from bossing everyone around. She’s 99% black, with one white foot!

Why Myotonic (Fainting) Goats?

Our ranch is in Golden Gate Canyon, a place where the West was wild, not that long ago. Animals have free range grazed in the canyon for forever, and we want to be part of that tradition! We regularly have animal visitors here at the Ranch (turkeys and mule deer and grouse, oh my!) but we wanted to provide a permanent home to animals, too. Because we have human kids, we wanted to raise something safe for kids to be around, and the cuter the better, of course! With their anti-excitable behavior and backward facing horns and their downright peculiar ways, fainting goats are a perfect fit!

Think they might be right for you, too?? Contact us if you are interested in offspring from Bo Peep, Antoinette or Bella, and of course, stay tuned for baby goat pics!
